THE POETIC GARDEN

Poets are plants
They make the world a garden
Every plant is unique
Every poet is a critic
Each plant has a different root
Every poet has a noble thought
A plant gives us a nice flower
A poet has a great word power
A plant gives us a delicious fruit
A poet’s words are as sweet
A flower will bloom
A poet relieves us our gloom
Plants add to nature’s beauty
A poet does his/her poetic duty
Plants need the sun to grow
Poets need wisdom to glow
Plants purify nature
Poets glorify its feature
Plants help us in many ways
Poets radiate their literary rays
Without plants there is no nature
Without poets there is no future
So I worship plants
And adore poets

MAN WITHOUT HUMANITY

A lion does not kill another lion
A tiger does not annihilate another tiger
But a man slaughters another man
For his own selfish reason

A brother kills his own brother
The sin or crime he does not bother
Man is given wonderful brain
Most times it goes in vain

Man assassinates man in the name of religion
Or for the mere difference of region
A woman burnt her own daughter
The illicit contact is the real matter

Man is worse than a beast
He does anything for his own feast
Shywolf(a fellow poet) is rather depressed
Because man’s humanity is compressed

Man should preserve his own race
He should never lose his grace
Let’s all pray for world peace
And not divide it piece by piece

I AM A BIG THIEF

I am a big thief
And I live in Independent India
On the 64th independence day
I was beaten almost to death
By the police
Because I was hungry
And tried to steal
An apple from a fruit vendor’s

On the same day
I saw the photograph
Of an officer
In all the leading news papers
He was given the best administrator’s
Award by the GOVERNMENT
He takes bribes everyday openly
I am a big thief and sinner
He is a great officer and award winner

T AM A WHORE

The other day I was raided
And arrested
With my visitor
And sent to the prison
By the police
I am a whore
Today she was also raided
But she was interviewed live
By all the TV channels
She was a cine actress
She and I do the same thing
In the dark
She is getting popularized
I am being demoralized
I am a whore
She is an actress

WHO AM I?

I am alone
But this universe is mine
I may not have a home
In the entire world I can roam
Most times I feel lonely
Sometimes I think the Globe is my family
I may be poor
But my heart is very pure
I may be blind
But I am very kind
I never think of my pain
But I always wish for others’ gain
I can see with my mind’s eye
My thoughts soar into the sky
I always live in imagination
And anticipate people’s emancipation
I am neither a man
Nor a woman
I am a universal human
I don’t belong to any region
Humanity is my religion
I am a huge tree
I am very free
I am a wonderful bird
And fly all over the word
I am as swift as fishes
And cross all the oceans
I am a different animal
I do not live in a kernel
Or even in a tunnel
I am a poem, a song, an art----
Who am I?
Yours lovingly

POETS ARE BLESSED

POETS ARE BLESSED

Poets are the most blessed
But their grievances are never redressed
They are creatures of great sensitivity
On the depressed and the oppressed they take pity

They can foresee
What even the sun can not see
Their heart is made of butter
Even the richest are no better

Poets may be emotional
And sometimes irrational
But their views are international
Their writings are sensational

Some poets may be addicted to wine
But their poetry shines better than sunshine
Like birds they have wings
Sweeter are their sayings

Poets have no death
They never leave this earth
They survive in the readers’ hearts
Poetry is one of the great arts

The society honours the rich elite
And neglects the poet and the patriot
I pay my tribute to the unidentified poet
And salutes the unknown patriot

Yours lovingly,

A FAIRY'S SMILE

A FAIRY’S SMILE

Seven days ago I went to my coconut farm
And saw a fairy in her beautiful form
She was like a real dame
I followed her without any shame

I was bewitched by her teasing smile
And I set aside my reading file
I forgot my scholarship and wisdom for a while
And was fooled for her style

She led me to her unknown land
I caught her tender hand
We lay on the soft sand
I thought she was a pure miss
And longed for her hot kiss
Our love game was very grand

I thought As if I were in heaven
With her I spent days seven
The last day I had a bad dream
A demon shook my left arm

I was in hospital bed
The doctor was testing my blood
My heart trembled like a swift flood
I paid the penalty for my fraud
I became very sad
Because I got the punishment from God

THE GOD OF HURDLES, VINAYAKA

THE GOD OF HURDLES
Lord Vinayaka is called the god of hurdles
Unless we worship him he creates problems
Today the Hindus perform puja to him with devotion
Other wise we have to face a lot of commotion

We wake up early in the morning
And purify our bodies with bathing
And wear new clothes and prepare delicious broths
On the wooden square frame we hang different fruits

Vinayaka is fond of dishes made of white floor
We offer the dishes to him with religious flavor
Vinayaka is called the leader of gods
Many stories are told about his glories

Vinayaka has a human body and an elephant’s head
He has a huge belly but a clever head
He is the son of Goddess Parvathi
We hope he blesses us with a lot of empathy

THE BLESSINGS OF WALKING

THE BLESSINGS OF WALKING
Walking is the king of exercises
It suits different age groups
And is useful for both genders
Its results are unbelievable wonders

Walk for five kilometers a day
And keeps the doctor away
You need not run like a race
But can walk at your own pace

Walking relieves your hypertension
And keeps your heart in good condition
It is a must for a diabetic
And is possible for a paralytic

It improves your vitality
And enhances your longevity
You can walk preferably in the morning
Or at least in the evening

Walking removes your bad cholesterol
And saves the consumption of petrol
Why do you eat carcinogenic fast foods in a pub?
Why don’t you join in a walkers’ club

THE UNCONQUERABLE HE

THE UNCONQUERABLE HE
He is an enemy to mankind
We are all afraid of HIM
He follows us like our own shadow
And comes to us only once
But we dread him like a dunce
He welcomes us cordially
But we reject his invitation rudely
We can not escape from his iron clutches
He searches us even though we hide ourselves in ditches
Man is unable to conquer him
He is too strong for them
Who is He?
What does he look like?
No body has seen him
But every body has heard about him
We reach him in many ways
Accident-----
Disease------
Suicide------
Murder-----
Old age----
The result is the same
We inevitably embrace him
Like a bride hugs
A bride groom

HAPPY DAYS

HAPPY DAYS
Gone are the happy days
When we were the boys
We would play different out door games
And call the girls by names

We would climb a tree
And run with a spree
Pick the neighbors’ guavas
Swim in the canals or rivers

We would watch movies only in the theatres
And visit friends during the holidays
Or spend our time with our relatives
Go to the farms and eat the raw fruits

During the religious festivals
We would gather in the villages
Celebrate them with happiness
And delightful emotions

These days boys stay only indoors
And play only video games
They are glued to the televisions
And do not know the significance of festivals
They watch movies in the home theaters
And watch the live cricket matches

These boys don’t enjoy the beauty of their boyhood
And don’t care for their neighborhood
They don’t eat even the natural food
Their way of living is not at all good

OUR LIFE ON EARTH

OUR LIFE ON EARTH
Our life on earth is a mystery
But we should find a page in history
We can not get it by becoming rich
Or crying at the top of our pitch

We should do noble things
And follow the noble sayings
Read the holy books
And have benign looks

We should help the poor
And go on a holy tour
Do something for our society
On the needy we should take pity

We don’t know what happens after death
Nothing is permanent on earth
We should pray to God
And be free from any fraud

Only God should be our Lord
He is undoubtedly our guard
We should not make any sin
God saves us like his own skin

Free Poems: THE TEACHERS’ DAY - By JVL NARASIMHA RAOINDIA

Free Poems: THE http://englishmonger.blogspot.com/TEACHERS’ DAY - By JVL NARASIMHA RAOINDIA

TEACHERS' DAY

TEACHERS’ DAY

We celebrate 5th September as teachers’ day
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on this very day
He showed the Indian nation the right way
His debt how can we repay?

He is a universal teacher
And a man of inimitable stature
Wisdom and simplicity are the hallmarks of his feature
Incomparable oration is his nature

He rose to the nation’s highest post
And tried to build a bridge between east and west
His philosophical teachings are the best
And his knowledge of English is very vast

He is Plato’s philosopher king
As President honour and dignity did he bring
He brought religion a new meaning
His glory and greatness I would like to sing

Yours sincerely,

I AM A HUGE TREE

I AM A HUGE TREE

I am a huge tree
And I am very free
My roots are in the Indian soil
But branched out in the west with great toil

People say my roots are not seen
But my leaves are green
The trunk is very high
It is growing into the sky

The roots may be bitter
The fruits may be sweeter
I know without roots
There are no fruits

I grow up further
My roots are very stronger
I don’t know which tree I am
But I am very calm

No tempest can shake me
In my grove the bee makes honey
If you want to name
Please do it for my fame
Yours sincerely,

THE TYPICAL INDIAN HOUSE WIFE

THE TYPICAL INDIAN HOUSE WIFE
Have you ever seen a Goddess?
I see her every day in my house
She is none other than my wife
She adds charm to my life
She wakes up early in the morning
And starts sweeping and cleaning
For the entire family she cooks food
She is never rude
She washes the floor
And always keeps indoor
She washes our clothes
And prepares delicious broths
She doesn’t have the time even for a nap
And protects the home like a cop
She sits on my left side
And worships the gods with pride
She made me an ideal father
And became a noble mother
My daughters and I are indebted to her
I regard her as a goddess for ever
